Demonstration Garden

Succulents area in the Garden
Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) has increased community involvement and environmental awareness by creating another facet of demonstration in the Park. A Garden in Every School® Demonstration Garden was installed to inspire youth to take action in the community and the environment by developing a grassroots project on their own. Student volunteers were involved throughout the entire duration of the garden project. The Garden is used as a demonstration site for IEUA’s Garden In Every School® Program (GIES). On an annual basis, GIES assists several educators in establishing their own school gardens. GIES Educator Workshops are held throughout the year to recruit interested schools. The Garden has become instrumental during these workshops enabling educators to provide real-life experiences with other educators who are interested in promoting the same cause. IEUA has opened additional opportunities to enrich local schools to both create a water efficient education program and have low water use demonstration gardens throughout the service area.
