Water Discovery Program

The purposes of the wetlands at Chino Creek Wetlands and Educational Park are to demonstrate natural water treatment and upland habitats. Educational awareness is being facilitated through the interactive trails with informational signs throughout the project, information centers, scheduled tours, the distribution of educational pamphlets and materials, and presentations to local/regional schools.  The Water Discovery educational program was developed in collaboration with Santa Ana Watershed Association (SAWA) and other regional agencies that promote the public understanding of the value of natural treatment wetlands, the creation of habitat for endangered/sensitive species and environmental stewardship.  The park offers educational programs, tours; of the interpretative native habitat, wetlands and the wildlife education center.

IEUA has decided to utilize the Water Discovery Education and Internship Program in its Education and Outreach Activities.  The programs are designed to reconnect students with the environment by offering surrounding schools as well as community members the opportunity to participate in an outdoor field trip style experience at no cost.
